Your full birth chart, right here.
Enter your birth date, time and place and this free birth chart calculator draws your complete natal chart — all ten planets in their signs and degrees, your ascendant, and your houses — computed in your browser from real ephemeris data.
Computed in your browser with the VSOP87 planetary theory — nothing you enter leaves this page. The app draws your full chart from the same planetary data NASA uses, to a fraction of an arcsecond.
What a birth chart actually is
A birth chart — also called a natal chart — is a map of the sky at the exact moment and place you were born. It fixes where the Sun, Moon and eight planets sat against the twelve zodiac signs, and where the horizon and houses fell around them. Your sun sign is a single line of that map; the calculator above draws the whole thing.
How to read your results
The three tiles at the top are your Big Three: Sun (identity), Moon (inner life) and rising sign (how you meet the world). Below them, the full table lists every body by sign, exact degree, retrograde status, and house. An Ascendant row appears once you supply a time and place — it anchors the whole-sign house column beneath it.
- Sign & degree — the zodiac sign a planet occupied, to the arcminute.
- Rx — marks a planet that was retrograde, appearing to move backward from Earth.
- House — the life area (1–12) the placement colours, counted from your rising sign.
Why birth time matters
The Sun moves about a degree a day, so your Sun sign rarely depends on the clock. The ascendant moves a full degree every four minutes — which is why a reliable rising sign and house chart need an accurate birth time and location. Without them, this tool shows what it can compute honestly and leaves the rest disabled rather than guessing.
From the chart to a reading
A chart is the data; a reading is what the data means for you. The StarBind app reads every placement and aspect in your exact chart — free — and the written readings turn it into a typeset, book-length report you keep. Curious what synastry adds? Start with how two charts compare.
Before you read it.
Do I need my exact birth time?
For your Sun sign, no — the date is usually enough. For your ascendant (rising sign) and house placements, yes: those change every few minutes, so this calculator only draws them once you add a time and place. Everything it can compute honestly without a time still appears.
How accurate is this birth chart calculator?
Planet positions are computed with the VSOP87 planetary theory and a high-accuracy lunar model — accurate to about an arcminute, far finer than any sign or house boundary. The StarBind app uses the same NASA-grade Swiss Ephemeris data professional astrologers rely on, to a fraction of an arcsecond.
What house system does it use?
Whole-sign houses — the oldest system, where each house is one whole zodiac sign starting from your rising sign. It needs no time-zone-sensitive interpolation, so it is the honest choice for a browser tool. Placidus, Koch and Porphyry are one tap away in the app.
Is my birth data private?
Completely. The whole calculation runs in your browser using a small offline city index — nothing you type is ever sent to a server, and there is no account to create.
